Build My Own Computer Desk – In this article we will show you how you can create the ideal gaming table using our range of pipes and fittings. The Kee Klamp hardware and tube system helps you create a custom desk that fits the exact space you have and is large enough to hold all your gaming gear: PCs, screens, studio speakers, mic stands, etc. The beauty of this system is that you can adjust the structure at any time, ensuring that your gaming environment will always work for you.
It’s a straightforward design that’s large enough to hold a gaming monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Simple but does the job.

Standing desks have become more and more popular in recent years. This is partly because recent studies have shown that standing for part of the day is much healthier than sitting for more than 8 hours a day.
Leaning Standing Desk
This setup is ideal if you want to separate your work areas. For example, you may want to use part of the table for playing games and use the rest for another hobby.
This large desk is ideal if you have a lot of space and need to accommodate multiple computer setups.
This section explains how to choose the height, width and depth of your gaming desk, how to choose a table top, and what materials and tools you need to build a computer desk with pipes and accessories.
If you like DIY and would like to build your own table top, you can use recycled wood or old pallets to give your table a unique aesthetic. For example, one of our customers used planks of wood he salvaged from an old barn for his table and it turned out beautiful.

If you’d rather buy a tabletop than build one, you can find suitable options at Ikea or other similar home improvement or furniture stores.
The first thing you need to do before building your table is to determine what dimensions it needs to be. Generally speaking, these will be determined by the amount of space you have available and your functional requirements.
The standard height of the table is approx. 75 cm. This is suitable if you will be using the desk all the time while sitting, you are of average height and the chair you are using is also of standard height. For a lot of people, that’s fine. But you’re building a custom gaming table, so why stick to the standards!?
To find the perfect height for your desk, adjust your chair as you feel comfortable, or (for a standing desk) stand with your arms relaxed next to you. Then bend your elbow at a 90-degree angle. Now have a friend measure the distance from the ground to your elbow. This way you will get the ideal overall height of your work table.
Gaming Desk Accessories You Need To Reach
If you are building a height-adjustable standing desk, measure your ideal sitting height and standing height.
Now you should know how tall your workbench needs to be. Keep in mind that this is the total height (including the table top). Subtract the height of the frame just by subtracting the thickness of your table top. For example, if your table top is 2 cm thick, simply subtract 2 cm from your measurements to find out how tall the frame should be.
The length and width of your table will depend on the design you choose as well as the space you have available. Most standard table tops are approximately 80 cm wide and 140 cm long.
However, if you are using a custom table top, then the length and width is entirely up to you. When designing your setup, we recommend that you consider the following:
Productivity And Ergonomics: The Best Way To Organize Your Desk
Once you have your measurements, start designing the frame and choosing the materials for your table. You want to choose materials that will support the weight of your oversized monitor(s), speakers, mouse, keyboard, as well as (potentially) your gaming PC case. The weight of all these items can add up quickly, especially if you have a large computer.
In the photos below, we used steel fittings to construct the table frames. These fixtures are tested to hold hundreds of pounds while giving you the freedom and flexibility to change the configuration of your desk whenever you want.
The order of assembly is up to you, but we recommend assembling the legs (stands) first. Trust us, it will make your life easier.

This desk was made with cable management in mind. The simple and clean design ensures that cables do not get in the way (with a wooden plate that they snap onto) and the PC case is kept off the floor (with a footrest that can be used as a support for the case).
Raising the computer case off the ground means that the computer unit stays cool and protected from dust.
Work From Home: Key Measurements Of A Home Office
One of our customers, Eric, built his gaming table by customizing our sturdy table frame kit. He then added pipe and fittings to support his two large screens and speakers.
The speaker stands can be adjusted or removed by simply loosening and tightening the adjustment screws included in the accessory.
To support the two monitors, Eric mounted another partition on the back of the desk. He then attached two braces to this cross member to form a support.
When assembling the monitor stand, make sure it is tall enough to allow you to move the monitors up and down if needed.

Ethan designed and built an office setup that is also optimized for streaming. Here’s what he says about it:
I decided I wanted to start streaming my PC games on Twitch. I recently sold my custom sit/stand desk so I needed a new desk to house my computer gear and thought I’d start over in style.
I wanted to create a formidable gaming desk that would give me the flexibility to adjust things as my setup and streaming skills improved and not have everything on the desk so I could focus on streaming and not all the stuff on my desk .”
These aspects directly affected the height of the table and the steel frame. When building your own desk, make sure you know which features are most important to you and then use those as the basis for your design ideas
Rustic X Desk With Sliding Shelves
Ethan liked the idea of a stage truss, so he used it as inspiration for the table design. He chose to use steel fittings and Kee Klamp tubing to build the frame, creating a very flexible system that was easy to build, modify and transport.
One of the aspects you need to consider when building a DIY streaming table is how to attach the screens to the frame. After testing several DIY solutions that proved clumsy and unreliable, Ethan finally settled on a VESA rod mount.

The table itself is made of solid walnut and has drawer fronts with integrated doors, so no hardware is visible and everything looks super clean. All the accessories also have a special place inside the drawers and there’s a nice system to charge them while they’re stored.
