Renewable Energy Course

Renewable Energy Course – The award-winning Renewable Energy Institute (REI) has launched a new heat pump training program for professionals and individuals – the second institute of its kind. The course is designed to teach participants how heat pump technology works and how to take advantage of the savings and benefits of the technology.

There are global efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and global warming. These efforts, due to rising gas and oil prices, are increasing investments in renewable technologies. Heat pumps are a natural evolution of the desire for a greener future, so it is important to understand the benefits of this technology.

Renewable Energy Course

Since heat pumps are used to maintain a constant temperature in buildings and distribute heat efficiently, they provide an inexpensive way to use electricity. Boiler upgrade schemes, such as those introduced in England and Wales last year [1], represent efforts to efficiently circulate heat in homes and commercial buildings. These systems reduce CO2 emissions and require less maintenance than traditional stove heating systems. They are cheaper to run than oil and gas boilers and have a longer service life (usually over 50 years).

Offshore Renewable Energy Courses

After 47 years of expertise in renewable energy technology training, the institute – known for green conferences in collaboration with universities across the United States and the world – is launching its new heat pump course.

The course focuses on the basic concepts of heating in buildings, the physical principles and technologies involved in heat pumps. It will cover different types of heat pumps, their impact on the environment and financial regulations and incentives. This course is suitable for individuals and professionals who want to understand this technology and explain the main benefits of its application. Participants who complete the course will have the opportunity to take the internationally recognized Galileo Master’s Certificate exam.

“We are pleased to add this course to our already extensive list of training opportunities. This is the second edition of the Institute’s Heat Pump Course and we look forward to providing our attendees with important technology updates and analysis.” We are excited. We hope this course will inspire people to participate in the ever-growing renewable energy sector and help organizations reduce their carbon footprint. Paolo Boni, director of the Institute for Renewable Energy

Known as the energy capital of Europe, Aberdeen is a major international hub for research and innovation in all aspects of the offshore oil and gas industry. In recent years, however, hydrocarbon-free energy has grown significantly, largely due to the large number of talented energy engineers and scientists in the Aberdeen region and the large wind and ocean energy resources off the coast of Aberdeenshire. The city and the region are rapidly developing as an important center for sustainable energy.

In August 2016, Hywind, the world’s first floating wind farm, was installed by Equinor (formerly Statoil) off the coast of Aberdeenshire, while in 2018 work began on the European Offshore Wind Farm (EOWDC) in Aberdeen Bay, which is the world’s most powerful wind turbine.

Description : As the world population grows and places more demand on limited fossil fuels, renewable energy becomes more relevant as part of the solution to the impending energy dilemma. Renewable energy is now included in national policies, with goals for it to be a significant percentage of generated energy within the coming decades. A comprehensive overview, Introduction to Renewable Energy explores how we can use the sun, wind, biomass, geothermal resources, and water to generate more sustainable energy. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, the book integrates economic, social, environmental, policy, and engineering issues related to renewable energy. It explains the fundamentals of energy, including the transfer of energy, as well as the limitations of natural resources. Starting with solar power, the text illustrates how energy from the sun is transferred and stored; used for heating, cooling, and lighting; collected and concentrated; and converted into electricity. A chapter describes residential power usage—including underground and off-grid homes—and houses that are designed to use energy more efficiently or to be completely self-sufficient. Other chapters cover wind power; bioenergy, including biofuel; and geothermal heat pumps; as well as hydro, tidal, and ocean energy. Describing storage as a billion-dollar idea, the book discusses the challenges of storing energy and gives an overview of technologies from flywheels to batteries. It also examines institutional issues such as environmental regulations, incentives, infrastructure, and social costs and benefits. Emphasizing the concept of life-cycle cost, the book analyzes the costs associated with different sources of energy. With recommendations for further reading, formulas, case studies, and extensive use of figures and diagrams, this textbook is suitable for undergraduates in Renewable Energy courses as well as for non-specialists seeking an introduction to renewable energy. Pedagogical Features: End-of-chapter problems Numerous case studies More than 150 figures and illustrations A solutions manual is available upon qualifying course adoption...
