It is open source, does not contain or impose time limits, and offers many powerful editing features. It also supports live streaming at 60FPS, which is also a popular option.
Before you start, you need to download OBS Studio from their website here. Since this is a comprehensive program, you’ll want to do some basic setup and configuration before you get started.
This means that you should check all settings such as auto-recording, stream settings, bitrate, audio sample rate, hotspot and file name format. What you choose depends on where you plan to display your videos and the capabilities of your computer.
Create Screen Recording From Your Desktop
After all the settings, you can start by touching the home screen. First, put OBS in “Studio Mode”, the left side says “Rendering” and the right side says “Live”.
To add a screenshot, select Source > + > Screenshot > Create New. In the menu that appears, select the window you want to record.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with many teaching tools, so you’ll have to find most of your resources in the online community. Radio listeners may find YouTube a good place to start this tutorial.
If you are looking for a dedicated software that allows you to record and edit, FlashBack could be a good choice. You can only use their free version for basic editing, but with a paid option you can use editing tools, save in different formats, and add special content to your videos.
Here’s how to start FlashBack. First, download FlashBack from their website (select “Quick Download” to get started for free).

This will download the exe file. If that doesn’t make you happy, consider other software. Then click Install Process. Select “Record your screen” when you get to this splash screen.
You can change other settings for your recording, such as audio source and capture size.
You can also choose to capture a window, a region, or the entire screen. When you select an area, you will see other red crosshairs that you can drag and drop.
After that, click “Save” and do everything you need to do. While recording, you should see a small bar at the bottom with “Pause” and “Unmute” buttons. This bar can be hidden or displayed as desired.

To use this tool, you must log in to the APowerSoft Screen Recorder website. After that, click the “Start Recording” button in the middle of the screen.
Add any suggestions that appear, such as “APowerSoft Web Developer.” If you choose not to create an account, you will see the following warning before you begin:
It’s easy to create an account if you want to remove the watermark, but you can start without it. Just click on the “x” on the top right and you’ll see a new recording window pop up.
