GIF is an acronym for Graphics Interchange Format. It was developed by Steve Wilhite while working at CompuServe in the late 1980s and has gained worldwide popularity due to its extensive support and portability. The most commonly used GIFs are animations.

2. Select the Image icon from the menu bar below the new message field. It looks like a pink circle with a white magnifying glass in the middle.
