A beautiful stunning statement of design and craftsmanship. Designed for Herman Miller by one of the masters of mid-century design, George Nelson, this large executive-size floating table features beautifully preserved walnut with Nelson’s trademark handles. Rectangular “floating” top left with bench with 2 drawers, right bench with 3 drawers, brand original handles mounted on cylindrical metal legs. The desk is structurally sound and in good vintage condition with some wear on the writing surface. No key. Vintage Herman Miller George Nelson furniture mid century authentic circa 1960. A circular metal tag reads “Designed by George Nelson Herman Miller Zeeland Mich.” Around the famous Herman Miller H logo in the center. This piece defines the space around it, making a statement in any room it belongs to that will surely be a focal point.

His husband and wife Charles (1907-1978) and Ray (1912-1988) Eames were instrumental in modern architecture and furniture, in addition to working in industrial and graphic design, fine art and film. Herman Miller was his son-in-law, D.J. De Pree bought the Michigan Star Furniture Company in 1923. After being hired as a clerk in 1909, De Pree worked for a company that opened in 1905. De Pree knew that his father-in-law was an honest man and decided to rename the company after him. By the mid-20th century, the name Herman Miller had become synonymous with modern furniture. Working with legendary designers George Nelson, Charles and Ray Eames, the company has created what will become classics of industrial design.
