Non Renewable Energy Sources List – Most non-renewable energy sources are called fossil fuels: coal, oil and natural gas. Carbon is the main element of fossil fuels. All fossil fuels are formed in the same way. In this ancient swamp, plants, algae and plankton grew. They absorb sunlight and produce energy through photosynthesis. When they die, the organisms sink to the bottom of the ocean or lake. Plants and animals kill with stored energy resources. Over time, dead plants are crushed beneath the seabed and found in places on top of rocks and sedimentary debris.

Coal is a reliable source of energy. You can rely on sun or rain, day and night, summer and winter, to provide fuel and electricity. Coal is also dangerous. When we use coal, coal releases a lot of toxic gases and pollutants into the atmosphere. Coal mining can also cause underground fires for decades.

Petroleum is a liquid fossil fuel. It is also called oil or crude oil. Oil is trapped underground in rock formations. In some places oil bubbles come out of the ground. At the LaBrea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, California, a large pool of oil rises from the ground. The remains of animals imprisoned there thousands of years ago are still preserved as tar!

Examples Of Non Renewable Resources

We drill the world for oil. Some beds are located on land and some under the ocean floor. When oil is under the ocean floor, companies drill into the ocean. They should build an oil rig. Oil rigs are among the largest man-made structures in the world. We use oil for many things. About half of the world’s oil is converted to gasoline. The rest can be used in liquid products such as rubbing alcohol and shoe polish or in shoes, water pipes, pencils, roofs, vitamin capsules and thousands of other products.

There are benefits to drilling for oil. Removal is relatively cheap. It is also a reliable and trustworthy source of energy and money for the local community.

However, burning gasoline is harmful to the environment. It releases harmful gases and fumes into the air we breathe. If there is a problem with the drilling machinery, oil can explode from the well and fall into the surrounding sea or land.

Natural gas is another fossil fuel that is trapped underground in reservoirs. It consists mainly of methane. You may have smelled methane gas before. Decomposing material in the trash releases methane gas that smells like rotten eggs. We use natural gas for heating and cooking. We rely on natural gas to power the lights, televisions, air conditioners and kitchen appliances in our homes.

Fossil Fuel Phase Out

Natural gas can also be converted into a liquid form called liquefied natural gas (LNG). LNG is cleaner than all other fossil fuels.

Extracting natural gas is relatively cheap and a “cleaner” fossil fuel than oil or coal. When natural gas is burned, only carbon dioxide and water vapor are released (the gas we inhale when we breathe!).

However, natural gas extraction can cause environmental problems. Rock breaks can cause small earthquakes. High-pressure water and chemicals forced into the ground can also leak. The source of water used for drinking or bathing is dirty and can be dangerous.

Nuclear energy stores energy in the nucleus or nucleus of an atom. Nuclear energy is released by nuclear fission, the process in which the nucleus of an atom splits apart. A nuclear power plant is a complex machine that controls nuclear fission to generate electricity.

Biomass feedstock can include wood as well as crops such as corn or soybeans. if possible, there are two types of energy sources: renewable sources and non-renewable sources. Let’s look at the list of non-renewable resources.

Energy sources that do not run out, but can be replaced, recycled or renewed through natural processes or environmental cycles are called renewable energy sources. Non-renewable energy sources are those that cannot be reproduced and, once used, cannot be replaced. It forms naturally over millions of years and therefore cannot be easily replaced. Moreover, there is always a danger that this resource will become extinct. Therefore, it is also called a depleted resource. Therefore, conservative use of these resources is the need of the day. Researchers are in the process of finding alternative energy sources to replace these sources, but until then it is our responsibility to use these non-renewable resources carefully and wisely. About 85% of the world’s energy comes from non-renewable energy sources, if we use resources at that rate; it will only make the problem worse. These resources must be used wisely because they are on the verge of extinction. Statistics show that if the use of these resources is not checked now, they will be exhausted in the next 30 to 50 years.

Natural gas is a mixture of gases such as methane, ethane, propane and butane. The use of natural gas has increased massively because it is cheap and environmentally friendly. It is used for heating, cooking, electricity and as fuel for vehicles. But figures show that there is only about 100 mmt (million metric tons) available, which should last only 100 years!

Important minerals and metals such as gold, mercury, titanium, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper and others are found in alluvial and underground deposits. These rare and unusual minerals and metals can be found with quartz or other sulphide minerals in ore form. Getting it in its purest form and using it requires a long process. Prices of these minerals and metals are already rising, indicating strong demand but little supply. Therefore it is important for us to use these minerals and metals wisely and responsibly to overcome the problem of their extinction.

Although wild animals are considered a renewable energy source, the situation seems to have changed. Our world is full of rare and rare wildlife species, but most of them are on the verge of extinction. The animal that has recently, featured in most of the world news, gone extinct is the tiger.
