How To Reduce Visceral Belly Fat – There are two types of fat that are most important in abdominal liposuction: subcutaneous and visceral fat.
Subcutaneous fat is the shiny, thick fat found under the skin. It is usually harmless, but may not be aesthetically pleasing. Visceral fat is stored in the abdominal cavity. In appearance, it is usually known as a “bear belly” – it is hard and dense, and people with a lot of visceral fat are sometimes called “fat”. It is worse for your health than subcutaneous fat. You can’t tell how much visceral fat you have without an MRI or CAT scan, but there are general guidelines.

If your surgeon performs abdominal liposuction using local anesthesia, he will also add lidocaine (a numbing agent) to the tumescent fluid. This allows surgeons to perform liposuction without putting patients to sleep and reduces the risks of general anesthesia, making the procedure even safer. As you age, your body’s collagen production decreases, causing your skin to age—which means your skin won’t bounce back. Now, there is no wrong age to get liposuction! But keep in mind that as you get older, it’s possible that skin irritation can be a problem, especially with tummy tuck.
We use Smart Lipo (laser-assisted liposuction) in most cases here at Houston Lipo Center because it increases collagen production, which tightens and tightens the skin in the area.
You may notice that loose skin can be a problem after losing a lot of weight – this can be a problem after liposuction. Abdominal liposuction removes fat cells from the abdominal area – permanently. These cells don’t grow back, they don’t move, and your body doesn’t change where it stores fat.
After a tummy tuck, your body has fewer fat cells in the abdominal area than before (about 70% less). If you gain weight after a tummy tuck, your body stores the same amount of fat in the same places as it normally does. However, because most of the fat cells are removed from the abdomen, some areas may appear larger than the abdomen. Your stomach will always be smaller than it would be without liposuction – but that doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want and never gain weight. Also, this is something to keep in mind – liposuction is not a quick fix and should not be used.
You’ve probably heard the term “fitness is made in the kitchen, not the gym.” And there is a lot of truth in that. If you have too much subcutaneous fat, no matter how big and strong your abs are, they won’t show.
