How To Record Screen Windows 10

How To Record Screen Windows 10 – With Windows 10’s built-in screen recorder, you can record screen content from programs along with system audio as video to your hard drive.

Just a few years ago, recording the screens of programs and games as video required expensive software.

How to make screen resolution higher on Windows 10?

This is made possible by the so-called “game bar” of Windows 10, which is actually a set of tools that do not have a real bar, as in previous versions.

Best Ways To Record Screen In Windows 10 (guides)

Here, we’ll show you how to use this built-in Windows 10 screen recorder to record images and audio from an app or the entire screen.

Then press “Windows + G” key to activate Windows 10 Game Bar, which is now known as Xbox Game Bar.

Unlike previous versions, the Xbox Game Bar app now contains several widgets that will be displayed using a black screen. The audio tool allows you to adjust the microphone of your audio system or sound source and adjust the desired volume level of all the applications currently running on your system – usually the sound mixer of Windows 10.

When the screen recording starts, a small widget will appear. In Game Bar View mode, you can mute and exit the Game Bar by clicking where the screen is being captured.

The screenshot widget will remain visible even after exiting the Windows 10 gamepad, but it will not appear in the screen recording folder. Using the screenshot widget, you can stop the recording at any time and mute the sound

You’ll find the recording made using Windows 10 Screen Recorder with File Explorer in your Documents folder under VideosSnapshots.

Alternatively, you can enter a Windows 10 screen recording in the game bar by clicking Show All Options.

This will open a small gallery with built-in players where you can quickly recreate one of your Windows 10 screen recordings from the game bar.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a picture is worth a million. If you’re showing someone how to complete an important task, or want to show off your gameplay, Windows screen recording is a great way to do it.

Fortunately, in both Windows 10 and Windows 11, screen recording is built right into the Xbox Game Bar, and it’s very easy to use, even if you want to do your work in non-gaming applications. However, there are limitations to the gamepad, so you can use third-party apps like OBS to record your screen if you’re doing anything more complex than one app at a time.

Below, we’ll show you how to record your screen on Windows 10 or Windows 11 using Xbox Gamepad and OBS. If you just want a still image, check out our article on how to take a screenshot in Windows 11.

How To Record Screen In Windows 10 Using Itop Screen Recorder

Built into both Windows 11 and Windows 10, the Xbox Game Bar has many features designed to improve your gaming experience, such as providing quick access to Xbox chat and checking CPU and GPU performance. However, its most useful feature – whether you’re playing or not – is the ability to record videos in MP4 format.

There’s a downside to using the Xbox Gamepad to record your screen: it only works with one app and can’t capture the Windows desktop or File Explorer. So if you want to show someone how to do a programming-intensive task—like programming a web page in a code editor and then viewing it in a browser—you’ll need to shoot a lot of video. And if you want to show how to do something in the Windows 11 or 10 UI, like use the Start menu, you can’t. For these actions, you must use another tool, such as OBS, which I will show you how to search for a recording later in this article.

2. Press Windows key + Alt + R to start screen recording. A small recording widget showing how much you’ve recorded will appear somewhere on the screen, most likely in the corner. You can also get here by launching the Xbox Gamepad (Windows key + G) and then finding the capture widget, but the keyboard shortcut is much easier.

3. Perform any action you want and use the microphone to record sound. You can also mute the microphone if you don’t want to record sound.

4. Press Windows key + Alt + R again to stop screen recording. You can also click the stop button on the widget. You will get a warning that says “Game clip recorded. Clicking on it will take you to the Gallery section of the Gamebar app and allow you to view the video you’ve captured. you can find the MP4 file you recorded in the Video/Captures folder.

While the default settings are probably fine for most people, there are a few settings you can change.

2. Change one of the following settings. Note that although I use the word “game”, the settings should apply to any program you register, whether it’s a game or not.

The main problem with using the built-in Xbox Gamepad in Windows 10 or Windows 11 to record is that it can only run one program at a time and doesn’t show the Windows desktop or File Explorer. To capture the entire desktop and all the windows on it, you need a third-party program, although there are many, we like OBS Studio for this purpose.

How To Record Screen In Windows 10 Without Any Software

OBS Studio is very popular in the game streaming community because it’s free and great for streaming games on Twitch and other platforms. However, you can also use OBS to record your entire screen in Windows 11 and save it as an MP4 file without revealing what you’re doing.

1. Download, install and open OBS Studio. When you start OBS for the first time, if you haven’t already, you’ll be asked if you want to set it up for streaming or recording only. If you don’t intend to watch it, select “Set for recording only”.

4. Click OK in the dialog box that appears. If you want, you can give the source a name other than Presentation.

5. Select the display and click OK. If you have multiple monitors, this allows you to have OBS on one screen and record action on the other. If you only have one monitor, there is only one choice.

How To Screen Record: Take A Screenshot Or Video On Windows 10

By default, screen recordings are in the Videos folder in Windows 11 (or 10). They are usually saved in .mkv file format. However, you can change the output to MP4 or MOV files by going to Preferences->Output in OBS.

Did you know that Windows 10 has a screen recording utility called Xbox Game Bar? With it, you can record video of your actions in any Windows program on your laptop, whether you want to capture gameplay or create a tutorial for someone using Microsoft Office. To make your task easier, we have presented some simple steps on how to record your Windows 10 screen.

The screen recording tool is part of the Xbox app that comes pre-installed in Windows 10. The Xbox Gamepad has recently received some major updates to make it more useful, so now you can take screenshots and even memes.

How To Record Your Screen On A Mac And Windows 10

1. Open the app you want to register. Unfortunately, screen recording can’t capture some apps—such as File Manager or the entire desktop—but it does work with standard desktop apps (and the Windows Store).

3. Check “Yes, this is a game” to load the game bar. This is the procedure when you record the screen of a game or other type of application.

5. Stop recording by clicking on the red recording bar in the upper right corner of the program window. (If you lose it, press Win + G again to restore the gamepad.)

That’s it! You’ll find the recorded videos, which are MP4 files, in the Videos folder in the Captures subfolder. You’ll also find them in the Xbox app under the Game DVR menu, where you can record video
