A long time ago, when Ken and Ann were still unmarried and Ken was still in law school, he decided to build us a TV station. He used some designs from Anna White but mostly did his own thing.

When building a wooden stand for your TV, you should know that you can choose from many designs. Therefore, before starting the actual construction, look at several projects and adjust the design of the table. You may want to add more shelves or not build a door for a small table. Regardless of your choice, we recommend that you prepare everything at the very beginning.
When building the TV stand, it is important to choose wood carefully, especially if you want to achieve a professional result. Therefore, choose boards that are perfectly straight and look for any defects such as knots or cracks. The first step of the project is to build the frame of the TV stand. As shown in the picture, we recommend that you build the sections from 1×20 wood and lock them with pocket screws. Drill pocket holes in the ends of both side panels and insert 1 1/4 inch screws. Alternatively, standard pilot holes are drilled through the horizontal sections and the screws are inserted into the sides.
The next step of the project is to install the shelves in the frame. To get the job done professionally, we recommend using 1×18 lumber. Drill pocket holes in both ends of the board and fasten to the side walls with 1 1/4-inch galvanized screws. Adjust the height of the shelf to suit your needs. Adjust the shelf to the back edges of the frame.
Continue the woodwork by attaching the back of the TV stand. So use 1/4 inch plywood to make the back of the wall and attach it to the frame with 5/8 inch finishing nails. Make sure the corners are square and add glue to the joints. Adjust the edges carefully before inserting the brad nails.
To improve the appearance of the TV stand, we recommend that you build four legs from 2 × 2 or 3 × 3 wood and attach it to the frame using the information from the plans. Drill pocket holes through the legs and attach them to the bottom of the TV stand using 1 1/4 inch screws.

One of the last steps is to build the doors for the TV stand. Build the frames out of 1×2 lumber and lock them together with pocket screws. Drill pocket holes on both ends of the uprights and insert 1 1/4 inch screws into the uprights.
Before pressing the glass into place, make sure that the corners are right angles. Use clips to secure the glass to the frames.
Attach the doors in place and lock them to the frame with metal hinges. Install door knobs that match the style of your furniture.
