Upgrade Your Bathroom Lighting with Easy Fixture Replacement

If you’re tired of staring at an outdated or broken bathroom light fixture, it might be time to consider replacing it. While the idea of changing a light fixture may seem intimidating, with the right tools and steps, anyone can do it!

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to change your bathroom light fixture:

Step 1: Turn off the power
Before beginning any electrical work, turn off the power source to avoid electrocution. Locate and turn off the circuit breaker that powers your bathroom.

Step 2: Remove the old fixture
Use a screwdriver to undo any screws or bolts holding the old light fixture in place. Support the fixture with one hand while disconnecting any wires with your other hand. Take note of which wire is connected where.

Step 3: Prepare for installation
Once you’ve removed the old fixture, you’ll want to clean and repair any damage left behind from its removal. Check that there’s an electrical box in place where you’ll secure your new fixture.

Step 4: Connect wires
Connect each wire from your new light fixture (usually black to black, white to white, and green/bare copper wire) to its corresponding wire from your wall using wire connectors.

Step 5: Install mounting bracket
If necessary, install a mounting bracket onto the electrical box using screws. This bracket will hold up your new light fixture.

Step 6: Attach new fixture
Carefully attach your new light fixture onto its mounting bracket using screws or bolts provided by the manufacturer.

Step 7: Turn on power
Once everything is secure and connected correctly, turn on the circuit breaker that powers your bathroom again. Test out your new lights!
