The Midwestern Renewable Energy Association (MREA) will hold its first Energy Show in St. Petersburg in September. Paul, Minnesota. Energy fairs bring people together to learn and connect with others about clean energy and sustainability. The show is fun for the whole family and features educational workshops, performances, live music, local food and inspirational keynote speakers. The University of Minnesota’s Energy Transition Lab, in partnership with the Minnesota Energy Storage Alliance, will host the Midwest Energy Storage Summit on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The conference will feature more than 300 participants from across the Midwest representing key leaders from industry, public sector, academia and the non-profit sector. The goal of the Midwest Energy Storage Summit is to bring together energy stakeholders from various sectors to achieve a common understanding of regional and national energy storage opportunities, opportunities and constraints. MRES is a local organizer of the National Solar Tour, which invites people from across the country to learn about solar technology and sustainability from the personal experiences of Minnesota area homes and businesses. The 2020 edition of the National Solar Tour celebrates its 25th anniversary. “The National Solar Tour will inspire people across the country to make energy-efficient decisions,” said Carly Ricksham, executive director of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). “By going solar, people can save money, support energy independence, protect against pollution and reduce their carbon footprint.”
