34 High Bar Stools

34 High Bar Stools – With hundreds of silhouettes to choose from and countless combinations of finishes and upholstery, you’ll find that choosing the perfect bar stool is easier than ever. Of course, shopping involves more than finding your favorite style. There are two main guidelines.

A beautiful bar stool isn’t very useful if it doesn’t fit under your counter or bar. So start by measuring the height of the bar or counter. The key is to consider legroom when choosing a size.

34 High Bar Stools

A standard counter is 34-36 inches high. When shopping for chairs, an important number to evaluate is seat height. The seat should be about 9-11 inches from the bottom of the work surface. Anything higher or lower will be uncomfortable and look disproportionate.

Extra Tall Bar Stools

A bar or pub wet table is usually 40-42 inches high. You will need bar stools, which again, have a seat height of about 9-11 inches from the top of the bar.

Don’t assume that chairs labeled bar height or counter height will automatically fit your space. Your bar or counter measurements may be outside the traditional range, so measurement is paramount.

Next, measure the width of your counter or bar to determine how many stools you’ll need. You want to leave enough space between each bar stool so that you can comfortably sit and stand comfortably without feeling crowded.

A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 6 inches between each chair. If your chairs swivel or have arms, you should leave at least 8 or 10 inches between them.

Swivel Extra Tall Spectator Wood Bar Stool 34

Do you have the measurements? Now comes the fun part. Shop our collection of high-style bar stools and counter-height stools to find your perfect fit. Comes with FIKSA self-adhesive floor protectors, sold separately, to prevent surface scratches and the sound of chair legs scraping.

Easy to assemble, easy to store. These bar stools in neutral black are always handy when you need a little extra seating around a bar table, work surface or kitchen island.

Plastic legs allow the chair to stand evenly and reduce the risk of pressure marks on soft floors.

Great affordable bar stool/stoolscot I love how sturdy this stool is, good value for the price. I’ve had other chairs in the same price range but couldn’t measure up, this one will do.5

Hansolle Bar Stool, Black Brown, 26

Perfect size chair Whitebull It’s the perfect height for my counter. The construction of the chair is solid and sturdy. The folding function saves space when needed. Overall, it’s a good job.4

Basic folding chair CLaire_ I bought this about a month ago because I needed a spare chair for the kitchen counter (height 30). Pros: It works for a decent price and the frame is sturdier than a $20 metal chair in the store. Cons: Not comfortable. I used it as a temporary work from home office chair for a few weeks. I wish they made cushions for the seat and back. (Hack: I folded a plush bath towel into 3 folds and placed it on the seat.) And if you’re shorter than 5’2, your feet/heels will have trouble reaching the footrest based on the folding frame design. (I’m thinking of cutting up some pool noodles to pad it or make it softer/more comfortable) I’m still thinking of giving it back or having extra spares for unexpected guests.3

Wood is a material often associated with furniture, and for good reason. It is renewable, reusable, durable, ages beautifully and is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. We believe that responsibly sourced wood is a key driver of change to mitigate climate change. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are pleased to announce that we have achieved this goal and today more than 98% of the wood used in products is FSC certified or recycled.

Forests help maintain balance in the atmosphere, purify the air we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nurture wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, wood and many other ecosystem services that we depend on. The procurement of approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from around 50 countries has a significant impact on the world’s forests and timber industry and has a major responsibility to positively influence the way timber is procured. Responsible timber procurement and forest management ensure that the needs of people who depend on forests are met, businesses can operate sustainably, forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

At, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We do not allow wood from illegal or high conservation value forest areas or from forest areas with social conflicts in our supply chain. Before they can start working together, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet critical timber procurement requirements. Require all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to take immediate corrective action. Working closely with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have achieved our sustainable sourcing target, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today, more than 98% of the wood used for products is FSC certified or recycled.

As unsustainable agriculture, infrastructure expansion and illegal logging increase pressure on the world’s forests and surrounding ecosystems, it is time to take a more holistic approach to protecting and supporting these vital resources for future generations. The 2030 Forest Positive Agenda aims to improve forest management, improve biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests throughout the supply chain, and encourage innovation to use wood smarter. The program focuses on three main areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm worldwide. • Stop deforestation and afforestation of degraded areas. • Encouraging innovation to use wood smartly by designing all products from the ground up for reuse, refurbishing, processing and ultimately recycling.

For many years it has been working with businesses, governments, community groups and non-governmental organizations to combat forest degradation and deforestation and to increase the quantity and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests, both within its own supply chain and beyond. We are on the way to improving global forest management and contributing to making responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, creating resilient forest landscapes and improving biodiversity.

Laminate is a thin sheet of wood that is bonded to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and natural wood look – so we enjoy many of the benefits of wood without having to use solid wood. The most common types of veneer are birch, ash, oak and beech, and we have developed a special UV varnish that helps preserve the wood’s natural texture. The advantage of a slightly thicker veneer is that you can repair and sand if the surface is damaged to give the furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Counter Height Vs. Bar Height For Stools & Tables

Choose the right height for your bar stool so that it is comfortable to sit on, offers enough legroom and is proportional to the rest of your space. Kitchen counters and tables are usually 87-91 cm high from the floor. To find the right chair for your desk, look for a seat height of 60-66 cm. Table tops or counters that measure between 101-106 cm from the floor are usually classified as “bar height” and require a seat height of 72-76 cm. Sofa with armchair and TV stand

Human Dimension And Interior Space

ISBN :

Description : The study of human body measurements on a comparative basis is known as anthropometrics. Its applicability to the design process is seen in the physical fit, or interface, between the human body and the various components of interior space. Human Dimension and Interior Space is the first major anthropometrically based reference book of design standards for use by all those involved with the physical planning and detailing of interiors, including interior designers, architects, furniture designers, builders, industrial designers, and students of design. The use of anthropometric data, although no substitute for good design or sound professional judgment should be viewed as one of the many tools required in the design process. This comprehensive overview of anthropometrics consists of three parts. The first part deals with the theory and application of anthropometrics and includes a special section dealing with physically disabled and elderly people. It provides the designer with the fundamentals of anthropometrics and a basic understanding of how interior design standards are established. The second part contains easy-to-read, illustrated anthropometric tables, which provide the most current data available on human body size, organized by age and percentile groupings. Also included is data relative to the range of joint motion and body sizes of children. The third part contains hundreds of dimensioned drawings, illustrating in plan and section the proper anthropometrically based relationship between user and space. The types of spaces range from residential and commercial to recreational and institutional, and all dimensions include metric conversions. In the Epilogue, the authors challenge the interior design profession, the building industry, and the furniture manufacturer to seriously explore the problem of adjustability in design. They expose the fallacy of designing to accommodate the so-called average man, who, in fact, does not exist. Using government data, including studies prepared by Dr. Howard Stoudt, Dr. Albert Damon, and Dr. Ross McFarland, formerly of the Harvard School of Public Health, and Jean Roberts of the U.S. Public Health Service, Panero and Zelnik have devised a system of interior design reference standards, easily understood through a series of charts and situation drawings. With Human Dimension and Interior Space, these standards are now accessible to all designers of interior environments....
