Plastics are mainly derived from oil and gas, which are non-renewable fossil resources. These resources are not renewed and eventually run out. Our ambition is that by 2030, all plastic used in our products will be based on renewable or recycled materials. Renewable plastics are made from materials such as vegetable oil, corn, wheat grain and sugar cane. Recycled plastic allows us to give a second life to non-biodegradable products like PET bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills. The use of renewable resources also reduces our dependence on oil as a raw material. Currently, more than 40% of our plastic products are based on recycled and renewable materials, and we aim to reach 100%. As we add products made from recycled and renewable materials to our range, we hope to inspire other companies to do the same.

As part of our commitment to people and the planet, all single-use plastic products have been removed from our global home furnishings range in 2020. I just assembled the couch so I can’t speak to its durability yet, but we were very disappointed when we opened the first box to find that the rattan was a much lighter color than the photos showed. . I rechecked on multiple devices and the online color is darker and much warmer than its analog color. It has very little brown and is instead edged with green. Also, the sofa is sold as a module, and one of the 3 is noticeably lighter. Otherwise, it was easy to install with the pads requiring a little elbow grease to press the covers down.

Buying different parts from the store was quite a process, as the inventory wasn’t up to date, meaning you had to go back to the store multiple times and wait for items to drop from the beams.
