Formica Bathroom Countertops

Formica Bathroom Countertops – Do you want your countertops to look like travertine, marble or concrete without the maintenance or cost? My most popular bathroom and kitchen pieces on my Pinterest profile are those laminate countertops – not quartz, not granite, but laminate! I’ve already blogged about how great the new laminate countertops are, and I wanted to get a little closer here with some of my favorites…

Just so you know, I don’t get paid to promote any of the products I feature on this page. I pay wine, Starbucks and myself a high-five.

While I love the look of an authentic marble counter, I don’t mind the upkeep – Mom just wants to put her glass of red wine wherever she wants! While quartz countertops look great with no maintenance, they still come with a hefty price tag. While laminate countertops aren’t as tough as quartz, they’re a fraction of the price and look beautiful in the right place.

Are Laminate Countertops Good As Green Counter Choices?

Formica Calacatta marble is one of my favorites because it gives a super modern look like marble without the maintenance. With a square wrap front profile, it’s got a marble look for under $400! If you want the reverse look, check out Formica Jet Sequoia, a black base with white/grey veins.

A well-chosen laminate countertop looks amazing when it comes to a fraction of the cost of quartz or granite, and I’m not talking hundreds of dollars, I’m talking thousands of dollars (especially in the kitchen). Although there are some ‘affordable’ lines of quartz and granite, they come nowhere when it comes to laminate prices.

Remember, countertops often come in many different finishes (matte, etched, polished, etc…) so be sure to look at your options before you order!

If you don’t like the more graphic veins of Calacatta marble, you may prefer the more subtle approach of Carrara Bianco. You’ll notice that there’s a low/dark gray and a subtle gray undertone to the purple (remember that every gray has undertones!).

How To Restore A Laminate Countertop

It’s hard to beat the organic look of real concrete countertops, but you should be happy that they stain easily and require annual maintenance. For very little money and stress, you can get the look without the work!

Inukshuk Gray is one of my favorite countertops for an organic, natural look. This next project shows Inukshuk Gray in a matte finish, but it’s also available in a glossy finish if you want a more polished look.

If you look closely at the specimen, you will notice that it has small white flakes for visual interest.

I know many of you curse your early 2000s travertine tile, but if you ask me, I think travertine is a beautiful product – a great way to add warmth, texture and interest to a space. In fact, I would go so far as to get that look on my counters!

The 7 Most Popular Laminate Colors

Formica Travertine is a beautiful laminate with a range of silver gray and warm tones. This counter often works in bathrooms with almond and bone fixtures because it has some color.

Clients have wanted to use silver travertine in the kitchen, but because of the strong linear veins, it doesn’t look good on counters that aren’t one piece (corners where the slab meets the lines/pattern of the counter. won’t match). However, in a bathroom with straight-running counters, this is a nice choice, especially if your floor tiles are more subdued.

When updating a home, it is not always possible to replace all surfaces. This means that you are often working with tiles, bathroom fixtures or finishes that are not what you imagined. Fortunately, there are a few counters that can help transform an old finish into a new decade.

First, let’s examine the mineral jet. This is a great countertop if your room has warm finishes like black, it has light grays and browns that make it very versatile.

Update Your Outdated Countertops For Less Than $4

Black is often a popular choice for those who want to update a space without finishing it all around. Mineral jet (above), ebony oxide, and oily soapstone are great examples of black countertops that still have visual interest.

I don’t have all of my favorite photos, because I rely 100% on photos from my online paint color consulting clients, giving you real homes with real budgets. So, if you’re looking for a flexible yet warm laminate countertop, check out…

Why I Chose Laminate Countertops The Lived In Look

One of the biggest factors in this transformation was our new laminate counters, and I’m just as bored as you are. A few months ago, I wouldn’t have thought of using laminate countertops in the bathroom. And there were various misconceptions about them.

But today’s laminate countertops aren’t what you remember seeing in the ’80s or ’90s, and they certainly don’t look like you’d be living in an office space or a public restroom.

Certainly the biggest deciding factor in our bathroom refresh project was the cost of laminate counters. While I absolutely love how the space is updated now, we still want to do a full renovation at some point. Our vanity was not intended to be a permanent solution complete with new cabinets and counters.

I can’t justify giving up the showroom-only Grand on new quartz or granite counters a few years from now.

Kitchen And Bath Laminate Counters

So I started researching inexpensive countertop materials and even considered painting my old ugly cultured marble countertops for a hot minute. But I really want to DIY this room. Even though we painted the vanity cabinets, it still needed something new to freshen it up.

I realized I could save a ton of money on new counters if I went with the laminate surface option. I realized that today’s laminate counters may be very cheap but not really cheap.

In fact, unless you touch or look closely at our countertops, you won’t even be able to tell they’re laminate. Pretty neat, right?
